The standard route is the same RICS-accredited degree and Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) that leads to chartered (MRICS) status elsewhere in this field, typically specialising toward land, geomatics, or planning and development pathways during the APC itself. A five-to-six-year Level 6/7 degree apprenticeship is again a recognised alternative, and some entrants come in through a geomatics or geospatial-specific route before specialising into development work.
